Pedagogy and e-learning

Project theme: Pedagogy and e-learning

Purpose. The purpose of this project is to examine what connections, if any, current e-learning models have with specific learning perspectives and pedagogical approaches. Assuming that good instructional design should include an understanding of its theoretical underpinnings, it is valuable to review past literature and determine what theories and approaches are being carried forward in today's e-learning models.

Activities summary. The links directly above represent the three activities designed to meet the objectives of this project. The first activity, chronology of learning theory, presents a timeline grid that begins with a summary of the decade followed by explanations of important people, publications, and theories of the time period. The second activity, e-learning models, describes the framework of selected models. The third activity, mapping theory to models, identifies theoretical underpinnings of the models.
